Excerpts

Trading Rules – Simple Inside Bar Day Trading
These rules attempt to capture the first low-risk pullback in a new trend using an inside bar. We define the trend with the help of a 21-period simple moving average (SMA).

Bullish Inside Bar Trading Setup
1. From below the SMA, the market rises completely above it.
A price bar must clear above the SMA.
2. Wait for the first bullish inside bar.
3. Place a buy stop order a tick above it.

Bearish Inside Bar Trading Setup
1. From above the SMA, the market falls completely below it. A
price bar must clear below the SMA.
2. Wait for the first bearish inside bar.
3. Place a sell stop order a tick below it.

About author

Hi there, I’m Galen.

After attending a talk on options trading ten years ago, I started trading and have never looked back. Over the years, I have used many trading strategies and traded many markets.

Eventually, I found consistency in day trading futures with a minimalist price action approach.

But don’t mistake me for a price action purist. Indicators are just tools, and there is no need to discard them if you know how to use them.

There is no one way to trade profitably. Neither do we need to find the best method. All you need is to find one that makes sense to you and works for you.

I am just a regular guy trading as an individual. I do not trade other people’s capital.

Learning how to trade was tough for me, and I know it can be tough for other aspiring traders.
